I talked back and forth with Crandall about fixes but they offered to replace the chair entirely or give a partial refund.
Although, Crandall indicates that they increased the seat cushion thickness I found that my "backside" did not fare well after as little over an hour. The only way I could tell it wasn't a new chair was a small scratch and half removed sticker on the bottom of the chair.
Not to mention the whole saving the environment thing by recycling old chairs. Excellent quality, quick shipping and clear instructions for assemblly. Parts shipped in a timely manner, arrived in good order.
But this review isn't about Steelcase - it's about Crandall.What really impressed me about Crandall was their support. I'm very happy with the experience.
Headrest is not available on stools or Plus models. Plastic shell on the headrest is available in black only. I needed a better office chair for the long hours in front of my home office desk. I ordered a refurbished Steelcase Amia chair at about half the price of buying it new. We treat every customer as our best customer.

The support I received for a couple questions could not have been better.
Headrest adjusts 2 1â 4" vertically and adds 6 3â 4" to 9" to the overall height. Delivery was quick and setup was easy because of included documentation and web support showing how the pieces fit together. That is so chock full of useful information I can’t wait to I was looking for Armpads for my Steelcase chair, old model, sent some pictures to Crandall, they suggested the part, bought it and it works perfectly, I was very pleasantly surprised by their professionalism and quick service, if necessary, I will do business with them again.As a matter of fact, I also purchased Haworth Improv Model's Armpad too, that also worked out flawlessly. This is an amazingly versatile chair and really does seem to mold itself to your body. A touch of old school customer service with new school efficiency - perfect transaction! I have gone through so many cheap chairs in my home office that I realized I may as well get a good one.

I've been using it several hours a day for some weeks now -- it's a great support and is very comfortable. Crandal has been helpful, informative, timely, and business-like throughout the purchasing process. It came packaged well and the directions were easy to put together. However, I think my refurbished Steelcase Amia is more cushioned and solid in it's construction than the new Series 1.

Other than one or two minor nicks or scratches that you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for them, you can hardly tell this chair is used.

When you purchase a Steelcase Leap chair with a headrest, you will usually get the headrest ready to be installed on your chair.
